I know that we have not been so faithful in sending regular newsletters. These past few years have been like a whirlwind to us. We are still ministering and going out on the road as God opens the door. Sometimes we have to sit and listen to what God is telling us. We can get too caught up into what is going on around us that we miss the bigger picture. Some of you have been in regular contact and know what has been going on in our lives, some hear rumors and others have not heard anything at all. We apologize for that and now we are starting the next chapter of Walk for Him. We are still in NW Arkansas and call this home. When the economy crashed and fuel went through the roof we took that as a sign to re-evaluate what we were doing. After the loss of my parents and most recently my oldest sister I know it is time to get busy again. I have gotten involved at the local level here in Lincoln helping people and reaching out to the hopeless. This fall we did a coat drive. Local businesses helped collect donated coats, hats, gloves and such. The drycleaners that we work with cleaned and repaired all that we sent to them. We washed and dried what we could. All in all we gave out over 130 much-appreciated coats. This Dec. we worked with the local Chamber of Commerce, a local church and the city for a Christmas on the square event. There was, a live nativity scene, carolers’ and a candle light service. Also provided were pony rides and Santa giving out bags of goodies. There were over 700 meals served and door prizes given out. All of this at no cost to the people that attended.<o:o:o:o:p></o:o:o:o:p>

  Matthew 25:42-45 (NASB)
<sup>42 </sup>for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;
43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’
45 “Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’<o:o:o:o:p></o:o:o:o:p>

We have found that if you really want to impact the world around you we have to get out of our comfort zone and start getting involved with the community around us. People are seeking answers and guidance. We as true believers have the answers with and the Bible for guidance. We just have to step out and represent our Father through our actions. Many want to go out of the country and see people they do not know, that live in another culture that they do not understand and want to call it ministry. When most of us need to use the tools God has given us in our own lands first. It starts with a heart desire to see our community change for the better. We are the ones that God will use to implement those changes. We are to be His hands, His feet and His mouth.<o:o:o:o:p></o:o:o:o:p>

  2 Corinthians 5:20 (MSG)
20 we’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.<o:o:o:o:p></o:o:o:o:p>

I once heard it said that you are called to change the things you hate. There are many things around us that we are disgusted with. Things we would like to see different. Too many people wonder what their call is. Maybe your call starts with the things around you. Maybe your call starts with the people around you. Our Christ like impact will affect those around you first, friends, family, coworkers. But we are called to take it farther. Get involved in community. Attend meetings get to know things going on around you. See the needs of the community. Where you see darkness be a light, where there are questions have an answer. We need to motivate the army of God. All Christians are called to work to make His presence known though out our communities and the world.<o:o:o:o:p></o:o:o:o:p>

                                                  Soapy Warshtub<o:o:o:o:p></o:o:o:o:p>

A couple of years ago during the month of October I was asking God His purpose for me here in Lincoln AR. As I was sitting in a church service God showed me the motorcycle traffic as it was going by, then be showed me an empty convenience store in town and told me to get it as it would be a place of ministry. So in my head I was thinking there is no way a bank will give us money to buy this place. But a good friend of mine once told me that we have a God of big vision. That if it is something I can do that’s me but if it’s something bigger than I can do, that’s God. We called the realtor and got the price on the property. I knew then that it would have to be God after hearing the asking price. I made an offer and they countered. We went back and forth with the realtor till he took us to the banker in charge so we could talk face to face. As we got within a few thousand dollars of each other the banker just looked at me and said, Kenny you know that the Laundromat next door comes with it. I said that I didn’t want the Laundromat thinking that would increase the price. He said no that it all came together at one price. Maria and I looked at each other and asked if we could go look at it. On our way we discussed the different possibilities of what could be done with the building as we thought that it was empty. When we went in we saw that it was left in the same condition as it was closed just that it had been flooded, very dirty and lots of the machines had out of order signs on them. Overall we saw the potential of the business. I’m still thinking in the back of my mind that all this is a test and once the bank got our credit application we would be laughed out of the bank and God would have something else for us. When we turned in the application the bank officer asked if he could run it through the small businessmen association. When we first got the vision we had contacted the SBA and were told that they didn’t help startup businesses but helped existing businesses expand. We told him to go ahead and try but we didn’t have much hope in it. He called us in three days to tell us that the bank had approved our loan and not only that but the SBA approved it also and insured it for the bank and that it dropped our interest rate a couple of points. Maria and I have been full time ministers since 1999 and have been living on faith. But a few years ago when the stock market collapsed another friend of mine that had been heavily invested told me he was buying all he could because the market would bounce back. I took this information to heart and put what I could afford into the market. Cashing these in was how we were able to make a down payment. And to sum it up we had them remove the fuel tanks from the ground and where the pumps were, as we do not want to sell fuel or have to deal with the EPA over old empty tanks in the ground. We realized that the community needs a Laundromat more than a Bike apparel shop. So we have put our efforts into getting the Laundromat up and running and I’m working on the convenience store as I can to get it ready.

should have posted this a week ago but here goes. Kenny is currently in Sturgis SD working at the Free Bike Wash Outreach for the rest of the week. He and many others from different ministries are working very hard in the heat but it is rewarding. Yesterday they were able to wash about 300 bikes but more importantly bless the riders and passengers with the Gospel, prayer, food and ice water all for free. It’s a perfect example of God’s free gift of salvation. It’s a powerful outreach that we have seen touch and change people’s lives. Most people who go to Sturgis for the rally think they are going for the “party” but we believe it’s the place they will have a God inspired heart changing experience when they meet and receive Jesus by seeing the actions of God’s people. Kenny and the rest of the team of workers will be out there every day, all day the rest of this week. Please keep them all in your prayers as well as the people they are trying to reach.

Kenny has been on the road for over a week now. He had several other stops to make before getting to Sturgis. I’ve already heard about some of the divine appointments he has had along the way. My personal prayer item for the wish list is a sturdy laptop (one that can survive the motorcycle ride) for him to use while on the road. So he can personally convey these experiences with you while he is still out there.

I will do my best to keep you updated. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Love, Maria

Times are changing and people are still feeling the financial crunch. Unfortunately we have not been able to make any bus trips due to finances. But we keep moving forward for the Kingdom.

On May 9th, (Mother’s day) Kenny had to come back from church that morning in pain. We waited about an hour and he just got worse. I took him to the emergency at 10:30 am. After a long day in the emergency room, it was a twisted hernia. Kenny had surgery on Monday May 10th. He is still limited in what he picks up and he is moving a little slow but he is doing well. Now we are looking down the throat of some major medical bills. We know God will provide.

We are applying for financial aid with the hospital for the doctor, emergency room and surgery bills. We are collecting the information we need for the process.

We don’t have plans on traveling in the motorhome just yet and I will not be traveling with Kenny as much. I’ll stay in Arkansas working part-time while Kenny’s on the road. It’s just less expensive for Kenny to go solo either by motorcycle or car or bus, depending on which is less expensive and convenient to the travel plans. So Kenny has been working on his schedule for this Spring & Summer. Check out our calendar page for the schedule as it stands so far. Hopefully there will be more added later.

Our newsletter for the fall season has been ready for some time. I was able to post it on our website, last month. It has not gone out by snail mail because of a couple factors. First our printer friend was backed up and running behind in getting it back to us. Then my computer’s motherboard went dead. In the research to replace it, found out that since the processor was an older one, so it is obsolete. Which means replace the motherboard and processor. Meanwhile I’m using Kenny’s laptop.

Kenny’s laptop doesn’t have all the information I needed to mail the newsletter out. So I’m catching up on all that. The newsletter will be on its way soon. This email is a sort of update and a test. I had an older email address list on a backup file so some of the email addresses may not work anymore.

Since we can now post the newsletter on our website, I will be sending a reminder email to let everyone know it is ready. Once on the website you can read it or print it out and read it later. If we have your current email address you will get a reminder with a link to download it, instead of a hard copy in the mail. UNLESS you notify us. Let us know you still want to receive the newsletter by snail mail and you’ll continue to get it.

It’s been kind of rough on us this year financially. In fact it’s been the tightest it’s ever been since we first went into ministry. But we are still in God’s care and doing His work. We depend on Him for everything and do what we have to do to in order to serve Him. Our contentment is not dependant on the world’s circumstances. We are successful in Him as long as we stay obedient to His call.

We are home until the 2010. While home we’ve been working with our home church. We just had a community outreach for the holidays and we’ll start having home bible studies soon.

We want to wish everyone a very blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We see things wide open for ministry opportunities in this coming New Year. It is an exciting time to be alive because the time is closer and closer for the Lord’s coming.

So I’m a bit behind on our update. First about our bus trip. We took our first ministry bus trip the middle of July. It was great for ministry we talked to a lot of people. I talked to one woman sitting next to me for a while about where she was at with the Lord. Kenny had more opportunities because generally there were more men than women, especially at night. We were able to give 2 young girls, visiting from France, Bibles. Our route was from Missouri then back home. Had a great service and it was good to see everyone again.

A couple of days after we got back we got a phone call about a long time friend. He lives in Michigan and had a terrible accident on the 4th of July. Our friend lost his thumbs and his eyesight in the accident. He was one who has witnessed Kenny change for God. Now he was asking for Kenny. We believed at this time of tragedy our friend was ready to respond to the Lord drawing on his heart. Kenny spent a week and half with our friend and during that time our friend received Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Now it’s just a matter of him walking out his salvation.

Before all this happened we had decided I would stay home while Kenny goes to South Dakota. I would stay in Arkansas, doing odd jobs and trying to get things in order. So Kenny left Michigan and headed to Sturgis. He’ll wash bikes and pray with people along with a team from several different churches. He’ll ride back home at the end of this week.

After he gets home, we’ll plan another bus trip. We just don’t know when or where yet. So you may hear from us:-)

Thank you all who have responded to the Lord in supporting this ministry in prayers, finances and friendship. We appreciate you all!!!

This will be the last email you’ll get from THIS email address. Just wanted for everyone to make the connection that this email will change to: walk4him@kingdomconcepts.org
Also our website will soon include our newsletters. If you would for us to email your newsletter, please let me know.

God bless you all!!!
