May/June 2009

During the month of May we were able to attend a day of a revival at our home church before we had to leave for Texas. Where Kenny spoke at a tent revival for a couple of days and I spoke at a Women’s Ministry meeting. But it was during this month that we had a heavy burden to start the Cross Country Bus ministry.

You may have received a letter from us about it. If not here it is:

We are so excited to share with you an extended part of our ministry. Years ago God showed us the need and the vision for this type of ministry. We feel God has released us to start this ministry now. Imagine you are on a bus sitting next to someone you don’t know for an hour or more. The subject of Jesus will come up.

Our first trip on a Greyhound bus was a trip from Florida to New York City. The bus made several stops along the way and people continue to get on and off throughout the trip. We talked to many people from different backgrounds including a young man from Islam. It seemed they were either on a last-ditch effort or heading to a new hope for their life. There was all manner of people: runaways, military going home or to their next duty station, just released ex-cons, etc. What a mission field!

We are willing to ride the bus for the opportunity to talk to someone about what Jesus can do for him or her. We are extremely excited about this new venture and hope you will get on board with us.

For the past 10 years God has provided us with many places all across the United States for stops to rest and share. God has made some wonderful connections for us through the Kingdom, which includes you. Although we may not have seen many of you lately, here is an opportunity to see you and share our trip.

Of course we can make ourselves available for a service while in an area or arrange to stay a day or two if we need to. We will work with your schedule.

God is just providing an extension of ‘Walk for Him’ with this new arm of ministry to step into and the time is now. We expect souls for the Kingdom from this ministry. And looking ahead to the future we see this expanding to the training of others in evangelism.

What can you do? 1) Are you willing to pick us up? 2) Provide us a place to spend the night or take us to a place to stay i.e. the closest hotel. 3) Drop us back off at the bus station the next day. 4) Help us pay for a bus ticket or part of one. 5) Pray. 6) Share this vision with others who may be interested in helping.

If you are willing to help by being on the list of routes please let us know so we can plan our route within our travel days. So please Email, Text, or Call us. God’s driving and we’re riding. Get on board. Get on the bus.

So we have been working on getting this new venture for this ministry going. We were hoping to start in June but considering scheduling issues we will take our first bus trip as a ministry the weekend after the 4th of July. Please pray hearts will be prepared to receive Jesus.

Now to clarify we are not stopping what we have been doing as far as ministering to whomever, wherever, whenever. God has opened up another door for us to do this same type of ministering. Kenny is planning on riding to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this August.
